In this one I will remove a person from one photo and place them in another. You can do the same with what ever you want to move from one picture to another.

This one is a little drawn out with a couple of extra steps, but it's the way I would do it to have the cut out blend in a little better with it's new home :) you can always do it a bit different or skip a little.

Load the image you want to move something from into Photobie, you can load both images you will be using if you want.
Select the image you want to cut and then choose the 'polygon selection' tool from the menu on the right.
It's good to zoom in on the image so you can see where to place your selection better. Don't zoom in too far though, try to have all the thing you want to cut out on the screen.
Pick a starting point somewhere on the edge of the object you would like to cut out and click once. ( Be sure to remember where you started. ) Now slowly move the cursor around the edge of your object and click with your mouse as you go. Try not to go too far without clicking and making a point, you want to make a smooth outline around your object.
Double click your mouse when you have made it all the way around back to your starting point. You should now see a light colored selection around your object.

(click thumbnails to enlarge)

With your object selected, go to the top menu - 'Edit' - 'Copy'. Go to the top menu again and click - 'Edit' - 'Paste as new image'.
( This is one of the extra steps, if you are happy with your cut out you can go ahead and paste it a a new layer into the image you want it in )
You should now have your cut out object by itself on a brown colored background, this is actually a transparent background ( nothing there ).
Now you can trim any edges sticking out that got left behind from the first cut. You can either use the eraser or keep using the 'polygon selection' tool. You can close the old image if you like.

I decided to zoom in and keep on using the 'polygon selection' tool to get rid of some of the leftovers. Just do the same as before, click around the area you want and double click when you are done. These are parts that you want to get rid of to make your cut out look smoother so when you have the parts selected go to the 'Layer manager' and click on 'cut layers selected region'. This will delete those areas.
( I was having a bit of a hard time with zooming to the lower parts of the picture so I had to flip the image first, delete the extras and then flip it back. )

So now your cut out is clean cut and ready to go. Go to the top menu and click on 'selections' - 'select whole image region'. Then go the 'Edit' - 'copy'. If your image you want to use to put the object into is not in Photobie, open it now, if it is there be sure to click on it so that it is selected/highlighted. Go to the top menu and click - 'Edit' - 'paste as new layer'. You should now have your cut out in the image you wanted it to be.

With the object still selected you can now move it in to place and snag the corners to resize it if you have to.

Now you can blend the object in a bit to make it look better. You can either merge the layers and use the 'smudge tool' now or clone the object and create a blurred version to blend it in. I tend to run out of memory with the smudge tool so I'll do it the other way.
Make sure your cut out layer is selected and on the layer manager and go to - 'clone' - 'clone current whole layer'.
On the layer manager select the first cut out again ( 1:imaging ), this would be your original behind the cloned one.
Go to the top menu and click on 'layer' - 'resize current layer by dimensions only' - and increase the width by 4 or 5 pixels. The height should automatically adjust, then click ok.
Click on the 'hand' ( move tool ) on the layer manager to be sure you can move this layer and make sure it's evenly placed behind the other, go to the top menu - 'filter' - 'embedded filters' - 'blur'. Put a check mark in 'Gaussian' and move the slider about half way to the right - ok.
Move the layer in to place again if you have to and on the layer manager lower the opacity almost to the bottom so that your blurred image almost disappears, this will hopefully make your image now look blended into the background.

You can now merge all the layers, resize... etc... etc and save the new image..

That might seem like a lot but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy.

Remember there are a couple of things you could do differently or bypass if you are not that fussy for the details.
