This tutorial shows you how to make simple shading as following:



Step 1: use fill shape paint tool to draw two circles in black and red color, make sure the red colored circle is the top layer (layer 2), if not, you can move that layer to the top.



Then drag and move the black circle underneath the red circle with partial overlapping
(you can adjust the black circle layer's opacity to make the color more soft)



Step 2: use selection tool to select the part you want to for the final image, and choose the third option
in clone menu,



Step 3: Finally use the blur filter on the new extracted layer, then you will get the shading effect.
